According to an wittness account he was killed in action on October 2nd, 1944 in or near Katerbos, Middelaar, the Netherlands. Virgil Carson is known as missing in action and is enscrypted on the Wall of Missing at Margraten. Unknown is if his body has been buried in a fieldgrave or has been transferred as an unknown soldier to Margraten.
