BIOGRAPHY:
Friedrich Stemmermann according to a biographical indexcard would have been born on April 6th, 1897. He reached the rank of Generalmajor.
Friedrich Stemmermann was severely injured during an explosion of a granade in Frankfurt on March 27th, 1945. At that moment he was waiting with his car for Oberstleutnant Erich Löffler who would take over command of the Kampfkommandantur Frnakfurt. Just at the moment Löffler arrived, an American 105 mm granade hit the direct area. Löffler and all of his staff was killed and Stemmermann was severely injured. This way all leadership in the defence of Frankfurt fell away in an instant. Stemmermann survives the injury and was taken American POW.
