Action: Received his George Medal for his heroic action in the night of 4 to 5 Januari 1943, for dismantling a mine from an enemy plane which had crashed at Fairlight, near Hastings, Sussex, Great Britain.
Details: Date of Gazette 18th. May 1943.
Later promoted to the rank of Commander.
Later in the war he was active in a Marine Commando unit during the invasion of Normandy and took part in the capture of Brest. Later during the war he fought with the Commandos in Germany.

Action: Geoffrey Turner received his George Cross for his heroic actions by removing the fuses of several mines on 21st. December 1940 in Liverpool, before they could explode.
