On 25/26 June 1944 Subadar Netrabahadur was the commander of a forward post near Bishenpur, Burma. When the enemy attacked this post, Subadar Netrabahadur managed to motivate his men with his brave behaviour and excellent leadership. They managed to beat off the enemy attack, but after they were reinforced they were attacked for a second time. The allies suffered heavy casualties this time and Subadar Netrabahadur was one of the last men standing until he was eventually shot and killed.
